Suppression
Sending again to an address that bounced or complained hurts your reputation, and everyone else’s on the same infrastructure. Vaartix keeps suppression lists and checks them before every send.
| Event | What happens |
|---|---|
| Hard bounce (the address doesn’t exist) | The address is suppressed for every Vaartix customer. |
| Spam complaint | The address is suppressed for your team only. They complained about your email, not anyone else’s. |
| Soft bounce (full mailbox, server busy) | Recorded as delivery_delayed, never suppressed. |
When you send to a suppressed address, it is skipped and the email’s timeline shows a suppressed
event with the reason. If every recipient is suppressed, the email’s status is suppressed.
Other recipients of the same email are sent normally.
Your reputation
Section titled “Your reputation”Vaartix watches each team’s rates over the last 7 days (once at least 100 emails have been sent):
| Rate | Limit |
|---|---|
| Bounce rate | 4% |
| Complaint rate | 0.08% |
A team above either limit is paused automatically, and new emails return 403 account_paused.
These limits are well below the levels where email providers start blocking mail. To get going
again, contact [email protected] and we’ll review it with you.
The best protection: only email people who asked for it, and never import old or bought lists.
